SUES Student Majoring in Performance Won the Third Prize in the 2021 IMC Shanghai International Model Contest

Recently, the 2021 IMC Shanghai International Model Contest Final Award Ceremony was held in Jing 'an 800 Show, one of the Shanghai fashion landmarks. During the yearlong selection across more than 10 competition areas and in collaboration with more than 100 colleges and universities in China, 50 potential stars stood on the stage of the final at their best to compete for the new idols of fashion supermodel.

 

Ying Yuheng, a sophomore, was selected to participate in the competition by the professional teachers' team of Performance major with careful consideration. Through the show of four outfits of costumes on-site, the judges made a comprehensive evaluation for each contestant from multiple perspectives such as physique, catwalk skills, and professional performance ability, and Ying Yuheng finally won third place in the final.

 

It is reported that Shanghai International Model Contest has become an eye-catching annual fashion festival, which discovered many local talents from China's first top model Ma Yanli, to a new generation of supermodels such as Lv Piqiang, Liu Hao, Fang Jiaping, Yu Hang, Li Qiang, Liu Bingbing, Ma Huihui, He Ruoyang, Zou Yuting, Pang Yi, Ceng Zhuolin, Liu Hezhizi, etc. It has brought many oriental faces with unique charm onto the international fashion runway. Now Shanghai International Model Contest is known for its high standard of competition, an advanced form of show and performance, keen foresight of fashion trends, and the influence of breaking through industry barriers.

 

The performance major of SUES is one of the few in China that combines modeling performance and fashion planning enrolling both male and female models. This major was first established in 2001 for junior college education, and undergraduate education started in 2006. Keeping close to the garment industry, it emphasizes the combination of fashion, art, and science, and focuses on the cultivation of students' creative thinking, fashion performing art, and the ability to catch the fashion frontier at home and abroad. Students have diverse employment destinations in well-known domestic model agencies, cultural media companies, and professional planning companies as professional models, professional managers, planners, performance directors, or work in model education.
