Meeting Between Singapore Overseas Education Centre, St. Martin International Fashion Education Group, and the School of Textile and Fashion of Shanghai University of Engineering Science

On the morning of May 22, 2025, the School of Textile and Fashion of Shanghai University of Engineering Science held a cooperation meeting with the Singapore Overseas Education Centre and the St. Martin International Fashion Education Group in Room C210 of the Arts Building, aiming to jointly explore new models for international talent cultivation. The visiting delegation included Mr. Yao Liang, Director of the Singapore Overseas Education Centre; Mr. Dong Liji, Director (Business Development); Ms. Lan Lan, Head of International Exchange at St. Martin International Fashion Education Group; and Ms. Xiong Fei, Director of Study Programs. Attending the meeting from SUES were Mr. Zhou Xiaozhou, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange; Ms. Bao Mengying, Deputy Section Chief for Cooperation and Exchange; Associate Dean Qu Hongjian of the School of Textile and Fashion; and Ms. Yang Shu, Secretary for International Exchange.

The meeting began with Associate Dean Qu Hongjian giving a detailed overview of the School’s international exchange features and achievements. He highlighted how the School actively promotes faculty and student mobility through joint training models such as the “3+1” and “1+1+1” programs.

Following this, Director Yao Liang provided a comprehensive introduction to the background, history, and international development of the Singapore Overseas Education Centre. Ms. Lan Lan then introduced the major partner institutions, key academic disciplines, and multi-level educational programs offered through their collaborations. The delegation also presented preliminary cooperation proposals aimed at creating greater opportunities for international practice and academic advancement for both faculty and students of SUES.

Finally, the two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on cooperation models, language proficiency requirements, and tuition standards. The successful convening of this meeting has injected new momentum into the internationalization strategy of the School of Textile and Fashion at Shanghai University of Engineering Science.
