Recently, Professor Guo Jialin from the School of Textiles and Fashion was invited by L'Oréal Group to participate in the performance planning and styling design for the “Trend-Setting Pioneers, Shining in Seoul” Asian Hair Trend Presentation at the L'Oréal Asia PRO Asia-Pacific Study Tour in South Korea. Her work received unanimous praise from corporate executives and local industry professionals, marking another milestone for our school's industry-education integration as it moves beyond the classroom and onto the international stage.
Professor Guo skillfully integrated core concepts from her courses “Apparel Styling Design” and “Visual Merchandising” into the project. Student teams applied theoretical knowledge and practical techniques learned in class to assist in styling for the runway show. Through precise execution of runway flow, lighting design, and visual presentation, they effectively conveyed the brand's philosophy, achieving seamless integration across the entire “teaching-research-commercial launch” chain. This international project-based teaching initiative represents a crucial step in the college's advancement of industry-education integration. Moving forward, it will continue to be driven by real-world industry demands, enabling more faculty and students to test educational outcomes in the global marketplace and contribute a “textile and apparel solution” to China's fashion discourse.
