Enterprise Expert Visits "Introduction to Engineering" Class to Decipher Tradition and Fashion

On the afternoon of November 21st, Wei Guangle, President of Shanghai Xijia Fashion Co., Ltd., was invited to the "Introduction to Engineering" class of the Textile Engineering major. With the theme "The Collision and Integration of Traditional Denim and Fashion", he decoded the company's development journey of "fashionable denim" focusing on the fabric and garment segments. Combining his years of in-depth industry experience, he presented a wonderful cultural feast integrating in-depth theory with practical insights for the students, helping young learners clarify their career development directions.

Taking the "denim ODM (Original Design Manufacturer) production model" as the starting point, President Wei systematically elaborated on Xijia Fashion's development process of "building its own brand label" while linking it to the current popular trends of denim clothing. He explained in simple terms how Xijia Fashion established the label of "fashionable denim" from aspects such as fabric material R&D, fabric design and production, and garment product positioning. The key to fabric R&D lies in material selection, and the "Xijia Twelve Material Series" demonstrates the innovation, comfort, and sophistication of Xijia's products. Xijia Fashion's product positioning focuses on jeans and jackets as core categories, featuring internationalization and a comprehensive industrial chain.

At the end, teachers and students discussed hot topics such as industrial environmental protection, employment trends, and career development. The entire sharing session not only provided guidance with theoretical height but also offered practical methods. President Wei encouraged students to lay a solid foundation in basic theories while taking the initiative to explore practical opportunities, temper their skills through professional learning, and surpass themselves in innovative practices. In addition, the sharing broke down the barriers between classroom theory and innovation/entrepreneurship, deepened students' understanding of the development of traditional denim and fashion, empowered their personal growth and career direction, and brought great gains to all participants.
