School of Textiles and Fashion Organizes Postgraduates to Visit the 24th China International Dye Industry & Textile Chemicals Exhibition – Promoting In-depth Integration of Cutting-edge Functional Textiles and Postgraduate Teaching

From April 16 to 18, 2025, the “24th China International Dye Industry, Organic Pigments & Textile Chemicals Exhibition” – sponsored by the China Dyestuff Industry Association, China Printing and Dyeing Industry Association, and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shanghai Sub-council – was held at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center. To advance the integration of industry, university, and research in the “Functional Textile Finishing” course and deepen postgraduates’ understanding of cutting-edge industry technologies and industrial development trends, more than 10 master’s students from the School of Textiles and Fashion visited the exhibition on April 16 under the guidance of Teacher Yang Qun.

As the world’s largest and most influential professional technical exchange platform in the dye and chemical industry, this exhibition, themed “Technology-led, Innovation-driven for Future Development,” attracted over 650 enterprises from 17 countries and regions worldwide. It focused on showcasing environment-friendly dyes, organic pigments, functional auxiliaries, green intermediates, and intelligent dyeing and finishing equipment. A special exhibition area for low-carbon technologies and digital solutions was set up, comprehensively presenting the industry’s development trends towards green transformation and intelligent manufacturing.

Through face-to-face exchanges with enterprise technical personnel, postgraduates gained an in-depth understanding of the latest research and application progress of functional finishing auxiliaries in antibacterial, flame-retardant, conductive, and environment-responsive functional finishing. They also systematically learned about the technical evolution logic and market demand changes across the industrial chain. During the visit and research, students closely integrated classroom knowledge with cutting-edge industry achievements, which not only broadened their scientific research horizons but also injected new momentum into future research project design and technological innovation.

This visit is an important measure for the school to deepen the “curriculum-scientific research-industry” linkage mechanism. It plays a positive role in improving postgraduates' comprehensive quality, enhancing their innovation awareness, and strengthening their engineering practice capabilities.
