School of Textiles and Fashion Grandly Holds 2025 Freshmen Opening Ceremony Writer: You Xinyuan

On the afternoon of September 15th, the 2025 Freshmen Opening Ceremony of the School of Textiles and Fashion was grandly held at Zhihong Hall of the Graphic Information Center. Zhu Junxuan, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School; Xin Binjie, Dean; Li Chunxiao, Qu Hongjian, and Xu Lihui, Vice Deans; as well as freshmen class teachers and counselors attended the ceremony. The ceremony was hosted by Ms. Xie Zhixia, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee.

The ceremony kicked off with the solemn national anthem. Centering on General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important assertion that “a strong youth makes a strong country,” Secretary Zhu Junxuan carried out party membership enlightenment education, encouraging freshmen to take the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation as their own responsibility and contribute their youthful strength to the construction of a powerful textile country. With the theme of “Weaving Dreams Through Warps and Wefts,” Dean Xin Binjie delivered a speech on the school’s history, systematically introducing the school’s discipline rankings, scientific research achievements, and industry-university-research cooperation outcomes. He emphasized that the school will strive to build a new highland for talent training featuring “industry-education integration and collaborative innovation.”

During the ceremony, the “Youth Leadership” Ideological and Political Lecturer Group delivered a keynote speech titled “A Powerful Textile Country, Weaving Dreams for the Future,” demonstrating the school’s achievements in ideological and political education. Outstanding alumna Wang Yayun shared her entrepreneurial experience, interpreting the professional perseverance and innovative spirit of textile and fashion practitioners. The ceremony also commended 14 military training models including Yang Yuhang, highlighting the vigorous demeanor of the freshmen. Yu Xiaoyi, a representative of the freshmen, pledged to inherit the fine traditions of the school and compose a brilliant youth chapter through hard work.

School leaders encouraged all freshmen to cherish their university time, bravely shoulder the mission of the times, inherit the craftsman spirit, and realize their life values in textile science and technology innovation. It is believed that the 2025 freshmen will embark on their university journey with a high-spirited attitude and inject new vitality into the development of the school.
