Songjiang Campus Open Day at Shanghai University of Engineering Science: A Brilliant Showcase by the School of Textiles and Fashion

On May 18th, in the early summer season, the Songjiang Campus of Shanghai University of Engineering Science (SUES) successfully held its Campus Open Day. The event was organized by the College of International Education (CIE) and received strong support from the School of Textiles and Fashion (STF). International students from the non-degree Chinese language training program at the Changning Campus and those from the Foundation program on the Songjiang Campus stepped onto the Songjiang campus to deeply experience the University's unique atmosphere of industry-education integration.

During the tour of the STF, the international students focused their visit on the SUES Fiber Materials Research Center and the Shanghai Engineering Research Center for Textile Chemistry and Cleaner Production. Moving through various laboratories, the students carefully observed the dedicated research work of personnel from partner institutions. The on-site visits to these two research centers left a profound impression on many of the students.

One participating international student remarked with emotion, "Here, for the first time, we so intuitively feel that 'industry-education integration' is not just a concept in textbooks, but a real process happening every day. The school and enterprises work together to cultivate talent, which gives us great confidence in our future employment."

By offering international students close access to the cutting-edge research facilities of the STF, this Campus Open Day deepened their understanding of the University's distinctive approach to integrating education with industry. Looking ahead, the STF will continue to participate in organizing such events to meet the growing demand from international students who wish to learn about and apply to SUES.
