On July 7, 2026, the Sino-French Jacquard Weaving Art and Fashion Forum was successfully held at the SKYTEX Fashion Building in Songjiang, Shanghai. Serving as a key practical component of the Textile Cognition Internship course for international students, the event extended the classroom to the industrial frontier. Xin Binjie (Dean), Gao Weihong (Deputy Director of Textile Engineering), key faculty member Zhu Jianhua, and several international student representatives from our school attended to discuss the inheritance and innovation of Jacquard art with Chinese and foreign guests.

The forum was attended by Chai Fangjun (Chairman of Shanghai SKYTEX Fashion Technology Co., Ltd.), renowned French designer Ludovic Alban, Chen Ge (Vice President of Donghua University), Zhou Yangpo (Director of Songjiang District Convergence Media Center), Wu Jun (Executive Dean of the School of Future Design at SIVA), and representatives from surrounding institutions.

Mr. Alban, formerly of Hermès, YSL, Carven, and Chevignon, shared his journey as a top designer and offered three valuable suggestions to young students: simplify ideas, understand clients, and stick to beliefs. International students from the Textile Engineering major actively participated in the Q&A session, asking questions about design concepts and the differences between Eastern and Western Jacquard arts.
After the forum, led by Liu Libin (Curator of the Jacquard Museum), the students visited the SKYTEX Jacquard Museum. They gained a close-up understanding of the evolution of Jacquard craftsmanship from ancient traditions to modern innovations, expressing great admiration for the profoundness of traditional Chinese textile culture.

This activity deeply integrated professional internships with international industry exchanges, effectively broadening the international horizons of international students and deepening school-enterprise cooperation, building a high-quality platform for cultivating globally competitive textile and apparel talents.
