On the morning of June 10, 2026, the School of Textiles and Fashion specially invited Professor Yu Chongwen, a national-level Distinguished Teacher and National Excellent Teacher from the College of Textiles at Donghua University, to provide guidance on the revision of the 2026 undergraduate curriculum for the Textile Engineering program. Xin Binjie, Dean and head of the Textile Engineering program, along with department heads and key faculty members, participated in the seminar.
First, Dean Xin provided a detailed introduction to the revision concept, process, and content of the curriculum. He emphasized the need to follow the requirements of education, teaching, and engineering accreditation, while aligning with industry needs and student development. Through a series of steps including preliminary research and evaluation, problem diagnosis, internal discussions, expert review, plan revision, and follow-up tracking, the program's training objective was clarified: to cultivate high-quality, application-oriented, and innovative talents who can meet the demands of the high-quality development of the modern textile industry, the construction of Shanghai as an international fashion capital, and the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing empowered by artificial intelligence. Subsequently, Associate Department Head Gao Weihong introduced the optimization plan for credits, class hours, and practical teaching. Key faculty members actively raised existing problems and offered suggestions for improvement regarding specific course offerings. After listening to the report, Professor Yu Chongwen affirmed the program's goal of cultivating high-quality, application-oriented, and innovative talents. He also pointed out areas where the current curriculum system needs improvement to meet engineering accreditation requirements and shared valuable experience regarding blended online and offline teaching as well as textbook development.
This expert seminar provided important guidance for further improving the relationship between the curriculum system and graduation requirements.
