On May 18, during the early summer season, Shanghai University of Engineering Science (SUES) successfully held a Campus Open Day at its Songjiang Campus. Organized by the School of International Education and strongly supported by units including the School of Textiles and Fashion, the event welcomed international students from the Chinese language training program at the Changning Campus and the preparatory program at the Songjiang Campus. These students stepped into the campus to deeply experience the university's unique atmosphere of industry-education integration.
During the visit to the School of Textiles and Fashion, the international students focused on touring the Fiber Materials Research Center of SUES and the Shanghai Engineering Research Center for Clean Production of Textile Chemistry. Moving through various laboratories, the students earnestly observed researchers from partner organizations intently conducting experiments. The on-site visits to these two research centers left a profound impression on many students.
Here, for the first time, we have intuitively felt that industry-education integration is not just a concept in textbooks, but a real process happening every day. The university and enterprises cultivating talent together gives us great confidence in our future employment, remarked an international student who participated in the event.
Through allowing international students to get up close with the cutting-edge research facilities of the School of Textiles and Fashion, this Open Day deepened their understanding of the university's industry-education integration educational characteristic. In the future, the School of Textiles and Fashion will continue to participate in hosting such activities to meet the needs of more international students seeking to understand and apply to Shanghai University of Engineering Science.
