On the afternoon of May 12, Wang Junli, Deputy Chief Engineer of Shanghai Challenge Textile Technology Co., Ltd., entered our Knitting Science classroom and delivered a lecture titled Innovation of Wool Knitted Functional Fabrics and Smart Factory Practice.
Wang Junli is a Senior Engineer (Senior Professional Title) and a Patent Management Engineer. She holds 23 authorized invention patents, has received honors including the First Prize of Science and Technology Progress Award from China National Textile and Apparel Council, and serves as an off-campus supervisor for graduate students at multiple universities.
During the lecture, Senior Engineer Wang combined real-world enterprise R&D cases to introduce innovative technologies of wool knitted functional fabrics in moisture-wicking, machine-washability, and other aspects. She also shared the technical breakthrough story of Challenge as the uniform fabric supplier for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. Additionally, she presented the digital production practices of Challenge's National Excellent-Level Smart Factory, allowing students to gain a vivid understanding of how intelligent manufacturing is applied in the textile industry.
Challenge is an important partner enterprise of our school, hosting student interns every year, with deep cooperation between both parties in talent cultivation and scientific research. This activity closely integrated classroom theory with cutting-edge enterprise practices, effectively broadening students' professional horizons.
